Today’s Texts:
Psalm 146:5-10: A psalm of trust and hope in God’s everlasting reign.
Psalm 62:5-8: A psalm expressing God’s unfailing protection and love.

Psalm 146:1, 5-10

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul!
Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God,
who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps faith forever;
who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free;
the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous.
The Lord watches over the strangers; he upholds the orphan and the widow, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Praise the Lord!

Psalm 62:5-8

For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my deliverance and my honor; my mighty rock, my refuge is in God.
Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.

Today’s Meditation:   As we immerse ourselves in the psalms of the day, we are embraced by a deep sense of trust and hope in God’s everlasting reign and unwavering love. These age-old hymns echo a timeless truth: our real support and hope lie not in the fleeting aspects of the world but in the unchanging, steadfast nature of God. Each line is a gentle invitation to find comfort and strength in the knowledge of God’s constant care and presence in our lives. These psalms inspire us to root our lives in this eternal truth, offering us peace and a safe haven amidst the unpredictability of life. Let’s take a moment today to bask in the warmth of God’s unfailing love, a love that nurtures and lifts us in every step of our journey.

A Prayer For Today:  Divine Presence, during this Advent season, remind us of Your constant love and protection. Help us to find strength and peace because we know how much you care for us. Guide our hearts to trust in Your unfailing presence, finding solace and security in Your embrace. Amen.
